about.
HI!
WHO?
My name is Zachary Stephens. I am a 3rd year Architecture student pursuing the 5 year B.Arch at Cornell University.
WHAT?
What I create are interpretations—ideas expressed through models, drawings, books, collages, and more, reflecting my personal interests as an architectural or visual designer.
WHERE?
I am from Modesto, CA but at the moment I am currently in Ithaca, NY. where I study at Cornell.
WHY?
I used to have an extensive interest in mathematics. It was special to me because it was so easy to trace the derivation of various theorems through mathematical proofs. With architecture, I developed a deep personal interest in the derivation of the principles that shape the field. This ranged from exploring the history of zoning in the U.S. to examining cultural artifacts, such as chairs, and their portrayal in the media, and how these perceptions influence the way they are used in buildings.
