An Atypical Individual

Elements of a home.

The way we decorate our homes reflects much about the individuals who inhabit them, from a sleek, minimalist NYC apartment to an eclectic, extravagant residence. This project serves as a celebration of an atypical individual, offering an outlet for artistic expression. It features a catenary-curved exhibition space that highlights an iconographic, idiosyncratic style, as well as a structured rammed earth home. The design

incorporates a series of movable elements that allow the occupant to reorient their space in various ways through revolving plates. At the same time, it introduces a paradoxical decision-making process, where the choice is limited to one or the other through Duchamp doors. The home is a story of events that culminates in a red chair for reflection. A red chair that represents the time the person can sit to reflect on their decisions in the home.
