Site Abstractions

From Trash to a Celebration of a Site

This project foregrounds itself around a constant flow of disrespect toward a site. Trash scattered about, littered at every corner. People did not care. The narrative that the site was pushed into only perpetuated itself with the build-up of more trash. The project aimed to reverse that through abstracting site elements like the large retaining wall and creek, and create a library that celebrates the site for the things that it has to offer.

The Devil's in the Details

Integrative Aesthetic

The aesthetic for this project took a more defined integrative approach to highlight the details of all the site elements and how they’re used. From detailing the reuse of items from around Ithaca in the details in blue text to using shades of colors to represent the correlation between the form of the building to the corresponding creek or retaining wall.
